About us

NewTexEco is a research community of five professorships that have been engaged in research on sustainable textiles for decades: Fashion and Tactical Design of ArtEZ, Sustainable & Functional Textiles of Saxion, Fashion Research & Technology and Fashion Identity of Hogeschool van Amsterdam. Together with around 30 practice partners, we are working towards a sustainable, circular and regenerative textile sector.

vision & mission

Organisation

Meanwhile, a core team consisting of Jeroen van den Eijnde (ArtEZ lecturer, programme leader), Daniëlle Bruggeman (ArtEZ lecturer), Jan Mahy (Saxion lecturer), Jens Oelericht (Saxion associate lecturer), Troy Nachtigall (HvA lecturer) and José Teunissen (HvA lecturer) is responsible for the entire NewTexEco programme.

Steering Committee

The Programme Team works under the mandate of a steering committee that oversees, monitors and, if necessary, adjusts the programme at the strategic level, and provides solicited and unsolicited advice. The steering committee has the responsibility to ensure commitment and support for NewTexEco’s activities within education and the field. The steering committee consists of people with decision-making power within their organisations to guarantee policy and activities resulting from NewTexEco within the universities of applied sciences. The steering committee has three representatives from the universities of applied sciences and two on behalf of the practice partners. Chairman of the steering committee is Frank Kresin.

Consortium partners

NewTexEco is a research community supported by a large number of co-funding partners who all care about the transition to a sustainable, circular and regenerative textile sector. These include partners from the textile chain from designers, producers to textile recyclers, industry and intermediary organisations for sustainable business and (inter)national platforms for fashion, and educational institutions with textile and fashion training.

NewTexEco is an open network with formal consortium partners who co-fund the programme in-kind and partners who just want to be informed about what we are doing and the results of our activities and research. If you would like to become a consortium partner, please contact the network coordinator Jaap Zandbergen.
