NewTexEco maps the Dutch ecosystem
In collaboration with Modint, we obtained a dataset of all Dutch companies in the textile sector registered with KvK (Chamber of Commerce, containing over 12,000), their age (year of registration), number of employees, office space (km2), and company websites. The HvA hired a research assistant to examine this dataset and obtain more details about the companies in the ecosystem of the Dutch textile sector.
The survey allows us to say how many companies are engaged in fibre production or recycling, what their main strategic focus is, and to what extent their practice is prepared for the upcoming EU legislation. The underlying aim is to discover gaps in the ecosystem and identify new opportunities for cooperation.

Several consortium members from NewTexEco and Saxion University of Applied Sciences have been awarded a substantial multi-year project called TEXPOWER. In the transition to a circular textile chain, this project aims to develop innovative technologies and demonstrate scalability in closed-loop textile-to-textile recycling.
