NewTexEco Introduces a User-Friendly Wardrobe Study Tool

Understanding consumer behavior is key to creating a more sustainable fashion industry. Since Maldini’s groundbreaking wardrobe research (2019), studies have focused on how people buy, care for, and dispose of their clothing. These insights help inform textile manufacturers, brands, policy-makers, and consumers, providing estimates of their environmental impact in terms of water, energy, and carbon emissions.
 
NewTexEco’s Wearer Dashboard
Francesco Sollitto of NewTexEco has developed an intuitive dashboard application for wardrobe studies, currently being utilized to navigate through the insights from the National Wardrobe Audit, an initiative of Mirella Soyer of the Knowledge Center Business Innovation at Rotterdam University of Applied Science. 
 
Goals of the National Wardrobe Audit:
* Build a national database of wardrobe content.
* Track progress on sustainable materials, reuse, and recycling goals.
* Develop and test behavioral interventions based on collected insights.
* Encourage participants to value and care for their clothing.

Interactive Dashboard and Impact
The survey application connects to the NewTexEco interactive dashboard where users can compare their wardrobe data to national averages. Textile professionals can gain insights into what makes garments enduring favorites, while policy-makers can leverage the data to craft strategies that promote circular fashion, like increasing second-hand item usage.
