Nora Veerman
Nora Veerman has been the new project coordinator for the Care & Repair research project since January 2026.
Nora is a researcher, writer and coordinator with a strong focus on fashion, clothing culture and sustainability. She has a bachelor’s degree in Art History (University of Amsterdam) and a master’s degree in Fashion Studies (Stockholm University).
After graduating, Nora co-founded, coordinated and taught the Fashion Studies minor at the University of Amsterdam. She has also been working as an independent fashion researcher and writer for seven years. Her work explores the everyday relationship between people and clothing: from making, wearing and repairing to discarding and reusing. She writes about crafts, the garment industry, sustainability and clothing as heritage, among other topics.
Nora is currently doing doctoral research at Radboud University on the history of homemade clothing in the Netherlands (1950-1990), in collaboration with museums. She previously worked for the Volkskrant, Crafts Council Netherlands and AMFI, among others.
Contact & role
Nora is the first point of contact for the Care & Repair project and for partners and external interested parties. She attends ArtEZ Univertsity of the Arts on Tuesdays and works from home or from her office at incubator De Ceuvel in Amsterdam North on other days.
Nora brings a combination of coordination experience, research, writing skills and practical knowledge (sewing, knitting, crochet and garment repair) to her work, with a strong focus on collaboration, knowledge sharing and systems change in the fashion and textile sector.
