Julia van Zilt

Julia van Zilt is the director of New Order of Fashion. Julia has a background in textiles and technology and started out as a freelancer working on interactive textile projects at the intersection of technology, fashion and materials. After that she joined Vlisco, where she set up and led textile product development and worked on the development of production technology. As a result, she understands how a product is created – from yarn and fabric construction to process and large-scale production – and what is required to make a design technically feasible.

Building on this foundation, she uses her studio, Textile Alchemy, to support fashion and textile brands with (strategic) branding and product development. At New Order of Fashion, she is building a platform where young talent, research and industry come together.
