Workshop: The Repair model

Garment repair as part of business operations

As clothing and textile brands, getting started with repair opens up opportunities for a sustainable and circular proposition to different customer groups. Frontrunners, such as Remake Society, also show that repair opens doors to new business models. In addition, repair will become an important element within the upcoming ESPR laws and regulations which state, that from July 2024 manufacturers of products, from textiles to electronics, must meet stricter requirements on circularity, energy consumption and reusability.

How do you take advantage of these opportunities and make sure you are prepared for laws and regulations?
To this end, Modint, Remake Society and the Care & Repair research team invite Dutch (SME) clothing and textile companies to a hands-on workshop on ‘How and why’ clothing repair can be part of a future-proof business model for clothing and textile brands.

*About the workshops

Remake Society workshop
For this workshop, there is room to bring in your own case. Based partly on these cases, Remake Society shares its insights and shows on the spot how it uses repair to solve customer challenges. From clothes that are returned because they are ‘broken’ to batches that are delivered incorrectly. Remake Society’s solutions are both practical and financially attractive.

Care & Repair research team workshop
This workshop offers an interactive working format around repair that gives companies (and designers) a better understanding of the relevance of repair for the company and its customers. What role and what influence do you have as a fashion brand, as a designer within a fashion company, on the shop floor or as management? The workshop insights will feed into the research.
