Indian Crafts Week
Discover the magic of Indian craftsmanship during Indian Crafts Week
From 9 to 13 November, NIFT University India, in collaboration with Saxion Fashion & Textile Technologies, Museumfabriek and NewTexEco, is organising a special series of workshops focusing on centuries-old Indian textile traditions. Indian lecturers and craftspeople from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) will guide you through the world of centuries-old techniques, materials and traditions.
Throughout the week, you’ll be introduced to various forms of Indian craftsmanship, including block printing, tie-dye and sari draping. By trying out these techniques for yourself, you’ll not only discover how these crafts are carried out, but also the stories, culture and significance behind them.
Who is it for?
The workshops are aimed at students, lecturers and professionals from the textile industry who wish to explore traditional craft techniques and cultural exchange.
