Dutch Sustainable Fashion Week: FÆES-›!T 2026

From 7 to 11 October, Enschede will be the setting for sustainable fashion, textiles and art during FÆES-›!T, the annual Sustainable Fashion Art Event. The festival takes place during and around Dutch Sustainable Fashion Week and brings together makers, students, researchers, designers and others involved in the field around the theme Back to The Future. Past. To Progress.

Overlap, a partner within the NewTexEco research community, is taking the lead in organising FÆES-›!T. This local programme includes talks, workshops, documentaries, textile art, fashion shows, exhibitions and showcases.

From NewTexEco, Floor van der Holst, our network coordinator, and Care & Repair researchers Leslie Eisinger and Nora Veerman are involved in a meet-up and workshop. Together with students, teachers and researchers, they will explore how we can keep clothes in use for longer through better care, repair and design.

The meet-up and workshop focus on how we can extend the use phase of clothing. Care & Repair brings research knowledge together with the experiences and ideas of participants. The workshop provides an opportunity to explore together what is needed to care for, repair and keep clothes in use for longer.

The event takes place at CONNECT-U and is part of the wider Dutch Sustainable Fashion Week programme. It is a valuable opportunity to bring research, design and practice together. The organisation works in collaboration with local partners, including Concordia, Saxion Fashion & Textiles Technologies, ROC van Twente, Enschede Library, creative hubs, artists, sustainable fashion designers and local entrepreneurs.
