Supply Chain Integration in the Fashion and Textiles Sectors

How is the fashion and textile industry’s production chain changing? And what does greater control over the supply chain mean for brands, manufacturers and other parties in the chain?

The sixth edition of ‘Avond aan de Amstel’ will focus on supply chain integration. Due to changing trade conditions and market circumstances, companies are seeking greater flexibility and control over production. At the same time, larger companies are opening new factories or seeking out existing production facilities. But does this also mean that production is returning to the places where products are sold? And what does this development mean for companies that do not have the resources to manage their own supply chain?

Led by Joris Völker, professionals from the international fashion and textile sector will discuss these issues with one another and the audience. Among others, Matthijs Crietee, Secretary-General of the International Apparel Federation (IAF), and AMFI alumnus Dominic Sluiter, co-founder of EnhanceThat, will share their perspectives. Marco Mossinkoff from AMFI will provide additional context from the fields of marketing and sociology.

‘Evening on the Amstel’ is a platform and ongoing series promoting critical dialogue on current developments in the fashion and textile sector. The events bring together education, research and professional practice. The series is a collaboration between NewTexEco, AMFI – Amsterdam Fashion Institute, the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, Modint and Joris Völker.
