The Data of Living Labs

NewTexEco integrates research with Living Labs to test and accelerate the transition toward a circular and (digital) fashion and textile industry in the Netherlands. On this page you will find data visualizations and insights from our three Livings Labs (1) Textile Ecosystem Living Lab (TELL), (2) Textile User Living Lab (TULL) and (3) Textile Material Living Lab (TMLL)

Textile Ecosystem Living Lab (TELL)

The TELL Lab was developed within the NewTexEco Project and it is housed inside the Wearable Data Studio at AMFI (AUAS). The objective is to use a combination of official data sources and secondary collection methods to improve our visibility over the local ecosystem. This should allow policy-makers, businesses, and other stakeholders to benefit from better knowledge regarding business activities, geo-location, and dimension.

Textile User Living Lab (TULL)

Following the emerging research on user behavior and wardrobe audits, new data is becoming available to uncover the potential impact of our choices when buying or disposing a garment. Besides gaining inspiration for research, you can already explore the insights from the wardrobe audit (Nationale Kledingkast, Mirella Soyer, 2024-25)

Textile Material Living Lab (TMLL)

Textile material libraries are becoming a common tool in education helping students and designers to make their consideration when choosing the appropriate fabrics for their creation. While the TMLL is being developed, you can already explore the tool used in the Ecomaterials collective, allowing students and researchers to upload material recipes and description.
