Techtextil 2026: Netherlands as frontrunner in circular textiles
From 21 to 24 April, the Netherlands will present itself at Techtextil in Frankfurt with the pavilion ‘NL Circular Textile Solutions – Ready for Europe’. This will show that the Netherlands is an international leader in circular textiles and digital innovation.
As a connecting research and innovation platform, we are proud that several partners from our network are contributing to this joint Dutch mission.
Netherlands at the forefront of circular textiles
Europe wants to be fully circular by 2050. The Dutch textile, clothing, leather and footwear (TCLF) industry represents a market value of around EUR 24 billion; accounting for about 2.4% of Dutch income. Transitioning to a circular and digitally driven sector is therefore essential for the future earning power of the Netherlands. With a strong group of innovative companies and organisations, there are great opportunities, think of:
- strengthening the international;
- Accelerating the scale-up of Dutch innovations in Europe;
- Positioning Europe towards a circular textile chain.
Visitors to the pavilion should soon know: “For circular textiles and digital innovations, go to the Netherlands.”
Our partners in the pavilion
A number of our partners are actively contributing to the Dutch pavilion:
SaXcell | Scale-up with unique fibre-to-fibre recycling technology that recycles high-quality cotton into new cellulose fibres.
tex.tracer | Replaces manual tracking with an automated, data-driven platform that enables real-time traceability of clothing.
bAwear | Supports companies in understanding and improving their environmental impact through reliable LCA data and supply chain insights.
The pavilion is organised by trade association and partner Modint, a key partner within the Dutch textile ecosystem.
In addition, Jaap Zandbergen, member of the advisory board of NewTexEco, is actively involved in the further positioning of circular textiles in the Netherlands and Europe. Network co-ordinator Floor van der Holst will also be present.
Accelerating together
International venues like Techtextil are needed to connect knowledge, innovation and market development. Important because we believe that real impact comes from collaboration in the chain; from raw material to end product, from technology to market and from research to implementation.
Through our partners, we strengthen:
- The international visibility of Dutch circular innovations;
- collaboration between technology, industry and policy;
- scaling up sustainable textile solutions in Europe.
