De Museumfabriek

De Museum Fabriek in Enschede is an interactive family museum where nature, technology, art and history come together. The museum was formed in 2008 from a merger of the Nature Museum Enschede, Museum Jannink and the Van Deinse Institute, and has been called De Museumfabriek since 2018.

An important part of the museum is its rich textile collection, stemming from Twente’s textile industry and the former Museum Jannink. Visitors will discover stories about the history of textiles in Twente and the Netherlands, see the special collection of textile machines, a glimpse into the textile heritage and can experiment and create themselves in the Makerspace. Research is being conducted into textile history and opportunities to link it to today’s industry.
