Joris de Groot (born 1988 in Nijmegen, the Netherlands) graduated in 2013 from the Product Design department of Artez University of the Arts in Arnhem. Studio Joris de Groot represents a designer who seeks the tension between craftsmanship and industry in his work. Interested in collaborating with industry, De Groot created his own workspace on the factory grounds. Once familiar with the process of existing techniques, De Groot experiments with available machines and materials for new, innovative applications.
