Enschede Textielstad

Enschede Textielstad is an industrial weaving mill that uses natural and local yarns to produce fabrics for the fashion and interior design industries. Our aim is to produce as locally as possible and to provide brands that are already working on sustainability and/or reshoring with quality fabrics in an accessible way.

All our fabrics are woven in our factory in Enschede. For smaller productions, we have two shuttle looms 150 cm wide with which we can produce so-called ‘selvegde’ fabrics with two finished selvedges. For other qualities or different volumes, we have gripper looms with widths varying from 160 cm to 210 cm and 320 cm.

We develop fabrics such as chambray, canvas and upholstery fabrics for various brands and designers. Raw materials include recycled denim, recycled cotton (both post-industrial waste and post-consumer material), recycled PET, Tencel, hemp and flax. As an indication of the possibilities, we have developed a small basic collection. However, our production is normally demand-driven. We talk to the customer about the wishes and requirements of the product and find a suitable yarn to match. This way, we not only develop a durable fabric, but also one that lasts a long time and fits seamlessly into the design and application envisaged by the client.
