Facilities
The three NewTexEco UAs’s – ArtEZ, Saxion and HvA – have workshops and labs that are important for our research. These include traditional and modern machines for various textile operations (weaving, knitting, etc.), but also 3D scanning equipment, for example.
In time, we want to make these labs accessible to students, teachers, researchers and partners of NewTexEco. This is not yet the case.
This section is still under development. Not all workshops, lab facilities and equipment are already listed here.

Mesdan Ring Lab 3108A
The Mesdan Ring Lab 3108A further processes the roving from the drawframe into yarn using the ring spinning process. The machine is suitable for fibers up to 45mm and can produce yarn counts ranging from 13.5 Nm to 135.5 Nm. Contact: textiellab@saxion.nl
Savio Polar Evolution M-MR Winder
The Savio Polar Evolution M-MR Winder winds the yarns produced on the Mesdan Ring Lab 3108A from a bobbin onto a cone, preparing them for further processing in textile manufacturing. Contact: textiellab@saxion.nl
Agteks DirecTwist 2B6 Plying Machine
The Agteks DirecTwist 2B6 Plying Machine can ply up to 8 yarns together. It has two positions, allowing two yarns to be twisted simultaneously. One of the positions is equipped to add elastane to the yarn. Contact: textiellab@saxion.nl
Mesdan Electronic Twist Tester 2531C
The Mesdan Electronic Twist Tester 2531C measures the twist per meter in yarns, including ring-spun, open-end, single, and plied yarns, ensuring quality and consistency in textile production. Contact: textiellab@saxion.nl
