Facilities
The three NewTexEco UAs’s – ArtEZ, Saxion and HvA – have workshops and labs that are important for our research. These include traditional and modern machines for various textile operations (weaving, knitting, etc.), but also 3D scanning equipment, for example.
In time, we want to make these labs accessible to students, teachers, researchers and partners of NewTexEco. This is not yet the case.
This section is still under development. Not all workshops, lab facilities and equipment are already listed here.
For more information or questions about accessibility, please contact lab coordinator Leslie Eisinger.

Light cabinet VeriVide
Simulates various lighting conditions (e.g., daylight, store lighting) to assess color consistency and appearance across fabrics or garments. Verivide is part of the AMFI textile quality test lab

Malvern Panalytical Omnisec CHR6000 & CHR7100 (SEC)
The Malvern Panalytical OMNISEC system is a state-of-the-art Gel Permeation Chromatography (GPC) / Size Exclusion Chromatography (SEC) platform designed for the comprehensive analysis of synthetic and natural polymers, as well as proteins. It provides detailed insights into molecular weight distribution, intrinsic viscosity, and molecular size, which are essential for understanding the degree of polymerization and […]

SI analytics Ubbelohde Viscometer AVS 470
The SI Analytics Ubbelohde Viscometer AVS 470 is an automated viscometer used to determine the average degree of polymerization in polymeric materials. It provides accurate intrinsic viscosity measurements, essential for evaluating polymer properties and recycling efficiency. Contact: textiellab@saxion.nl
Nabertherm L-032K2-N2 muffle furnace:
This muffle furnace can go up to 1200 °C to degrade the material and determine the ash content of textiles. The ash content is a measure of the non-fibrous material present, such as residual chemicals, mineral fillers or contaminants. Contact: textiellab@saxion.nl

Thermo Scientific Haake Mars iQ air rheometer
The Thermo Scientific Haake Mars iQ air rheometer determines the viscosity and flow behavior of liquids through rotational and oscillatory measurements. It is widely used for spin dope analysis, ensuring optimal polymer solution properties in fiber production and recycling processes. Contact: textiellab@saxion.nl

FET pilot wet spinning machine FET-200LAB
The wet spinning line is developed for research purposes, which is why the system has a modular and flexible set-up. For example, the height of the air gap can be adjusted, making extrusion directly into the coagulation bath possible. This means that filaments can be spun from a range of materials, like lyocell, collagen, alginate […]
