Facilities
The three NewTexEco UAs’s – ArtEZ, Saxion and HvA – have workshops and labs that are important for our research. These include traditional and modern machines for various textile operations (weaving, knitting, etc.), but also 3D scanning equipment, for example.
In time, we want to make these labs accessible to students, teachers, researchers and partners of NewTexEco. This is not yet the case.
This section is still under development. Not all workshops, lab facilities and equipment are already listed here.

Fabric analyser by Browzwear
An advanced fabric testing device that captures essential parameters like bending, stretch (extention), and thickness, allowing realistic fabric behaviour in 3D fashion design software. The Fabric analyzer is part of the Physical-Digital Textiles Lab Contact person: Tetiana Yeromina
FAST
A set of instruments designed to measure fabric thickness, stiffness, shrinkage, and other properties critical for tailoring and garment performance. Drape meter
Analyzes the drape quality of fabrics by measuring how they fold, hang, or conform to shapes, providing insights into their suitability for garment design The drape meter is part of the Physical-Digital Textiles Lab Contact person: Tetiana Yeromina
TRUFADE
Trufade evaluates fabric durability and colourfastness to sunlight by exposing it to simulated UV light. It also supports weathering tests, assessing fabric performance under various environmental conditions such as sunlight, heat, and humidity. Martindale tester
Assesses the abrasion and wear resistance of fabrics by subjecting them to controlled rubbing, replicating long-term usage and wear conditions. The Martindale tester is part of the AMFI Textiles quality testing lab Contact person: Tetiana Yeromina
Gyrowash
A washing fastness tester evaluates how well fabric colours resist fading or bleeding during laundering or wet treatments. The Gyrowash is part of the AMFI Textiles quality testing lab contact person: Tetiana Yeromina
