Lianne van Roekel
Lianne van Roekel is the new programme manager for NewTexEco since April 1st 2025. She has an educational and professional background in international humanitarian aid and worked for six years as coordinator for Doctors Without Borders (MSF) in Amsterdam. Next to this position, she completed the Bachelor DOGTIME Interactive Design & Unstable Media at the Rietveld Academy in 2018, followed by the interdisciplinary Master ArtScience at the University of the Arts the Hague (HdK) in 2020.
During this master, her interest in sustainable materials such as bio leather and the focus on research in the arts was sparked. Almost immediately after this master, she joined the HdK and the Academy of Creative and Performing Arts (ACPA) of the Leiden University as quartermaster/research coordinator for the (now called) Platform for Arts Research in Collaboration (PARC). Together with four professors (‘lectors’) and HdK/ACPA management, she set up, shaped and coordinated this interdisciplinary online and offline research platform for artist-researchers between 2021-2025.
In addition to this, she is an artist member of the Amsterdam artist collective GROND, a new art space and collective at the Nieuwe Bajesdorp, centered around collectivity, sustainability, cross-pollination and process-based work.
