Kate Fletcher
Kate Fletcher is a leading global expert on design for sustainability with a special research interest in fashion and textiles. She is one of the most cited scholars on fashion and sustainability, with over 70 popular articles and research papers and 10 written and/or edited books, including the main reference text in the field, Sustainable Fashion and Textiles: Design Journeys (2008, 2014). She has conceived and led multiple research projects and teams in progressive, radical research areas, including post-growth fashion (2012-2015), modelokalism (2016-2018), non-Western perspectives on clothing sustainability (2019-2022). and Earth Logic (2019-present). She is a passionate leader, researcher, lecturer, speaker and innovator who has both defined and challenged the field of fashion, design and sustainability over the past 25 years. Kate appears regularly in the media, including on the BBC, Radio 4’s Today programme, PM and The World At One.
