Jeroen van den Eijnde

Jeroen van den Eijnde was Professor Tactical Design at ArtEZ and founding father of NewTexEco. Trained as a product designer (ArtEZ) and design historian (Leiden University), he received his PhD in 2015 for his research ‘The house of IK. Ideology and theory in Dutch design education.

Since 1994, he has published articles and books on design in general and on design education in particular. Van den Eijnde worked for various professorships at ArtEZ. For the professorship Art, Culture & Economy, he initiated and led the two-year RAAK MKB project ‘Open Minds Open Sources’, which aimed to connect product designers to the regional manufacturing industry. Together with (back then) ArtEZ Professor Fashion José Teunissen and Lucie Huiskens, he started ArtEZ Future Makers in 2015, which was developed as a centre of expertise for fashion within the framework of the top sector Creative Industry.

In 2024 he opted for a career change and has been active as a teacher Dutch Language at the Thomas a Kempis College in Arnhem since the 2024-2025 school year.
