Jens Oelerich

Jens Oelerich is Professor Sustainable and Functional Textiles at Saxion and coordinates several research programmes on mechanical and chemical recycling of textiles, spinning yarns with recycled materials and analysing recycled textile raw materials. He is involved in (inter)-national networks such as Texplus, Dutch Circular Textile Valley and the European Technology Platform for Textiles. Oelerich is co-founder of SaXcell B.V., a chemical recycling company for cotton and Textile Fiber Boost B.V a start-up that wants to improve the quality of fibres from mechanical recycling. Oelerich also teaches textile chemistry and sustainable textiles in Saxion’s Innovative Textile Technology master’s programme.
