Jan Mahy
Jan Mahy is Professor Sustainable and Functional Textiles at Saxion University of Applied Sciences in Enschede. He has led the 15-person research group since 2019. Since then, the group has specialised in knowledge around textile manufacturing processes, especially circular processes, and functional prototypes in health and sports applications, among others. He is also co-founder of the Association NETFAS, a European network of more than 20 universities around textiles and fashion. On behalf of NETFAS, Jan is a director of the European Textile Technology Platform (ETP). Jan is board chairman of the TexPlus Foundation, a collaboration between regional Twente circular textile supply chain partners, which implements a major textile recycling programme co-sponsored by the Regio Deal. Jan brings over 30 years of industrial research and development experience, and an extensive network of companies and knowledge institutions around yarns, nonwovens and technical textile products.
