Haiko Huvenaars

Haiko Huvenaars is a systems thinker and changemaker working at the crossroads of fashion, regeneration, and digitalisation. As the Director of New Order of Fashion (NOoF), he’s on a mission to help consumers reconnect with the true value behind materials and products. With a background in industrial engineering he started his journey into (sustainable) fashion in late 2019. By looking through the lens of supply chain management he became obsessed with the complexity of a globally fragmented industry and the necessity for fundamental change.

He started to question why there was such a big mismatch between supply and demand, why fashion supply chains are as intertwined as they are and how fashion became such a painful symbol for our modern-day overconsumption society where it once was known for quality, artisanship and heritage. Through an initial idea for circular t-shirts that pivoted into a fashion-tech startup (Candour.Digital), he started to experiment his way further into the industry. By participating in accelerator programs and through countless conversations with experts (through his local platform Textalk), he quickly became familiar and started to further shape his vision.

Haiko and Ellen Albers (NOoF’s former director) first met at FASHIONCLASH in March 2024. Throughout the second half of 2024 he started having serious conversations about becoming Ellen’s successor at NOoF. Now, he’s working with his team to write NOoF’s next chapter in becoming an international platform for regenerative fashion.
