Alexandra de Raeve
Alexandra De Raeve has a background in textile technology. Before starting her academic career, she worked for 10 years in the textile industry as a product manager. In 1999, she joined HOGENT University College & Arts as a textile researcher. Currently, she holds a position as lecturer and coordinator of the research centre FTILab+. Her field of expertise is clothing comfort and textile finishing technology. FTILab+’s research lines focus on comfort and protection for both humans and animals through design/optimisation of products for sports and health, among others, using (smart) textiles and/or innovative production techniques, digitalisation and clean technologies in product development and production, and bio-based materials. In addition, anthropometrics and body measurements of horses are investigated.
