Save the Date: Circular Textile Days

The Circular Textile Days is a business event that provides an excellent opportunity to meet new partners within the sustainable textile sector and to discover and discuss innovative circular textile solutions. NewTexEco will also be present, with network manager Floor van der Holst as point of contact.

These two days are the perfect time to explore current (research) questions from the sector. Visit our stand and engage with us on seven central themes within our research programme; from digitalisation and circular design to collaboration in the chain.

Are you working on practical solutions or strategic innovation in textiles? We would love to explore with you the opportunities for practical research and new collaborations.

Visit our stand: a ‘cabinet of curiosities’ from circular practice
In our exhibition stand, partners show recent developments, from innovative yarns and knits to wearables, circular clothing concepts and make-it-yourself kits. You will also find publications on current textile issues and results of summer schools in knitting and weaving, organised with the Hogeschool van Amsterdam and Enschede Textielstad.

Round table: Care & Repair – life extension as a design challenge
The round table conversation will focus on the Care & Repair project, part of the ClickNL programme Design Power and Transition. This project starts in September 2025 and focuses on extending the lifespan of clothes through maintenance and repair.
We are exploring the role of fashion brands, designers and tailors, but in the first phase the user is the main focus. How do people relate to their clothes? What routines, obstacles or values play a role? And how can designers and brands respond to this to encourage more careful, sustainable behaviour?

Care & Repair combines practice-based research with insights from design, behavioural science and circular strategies.
Date and time of the session will be announced soon.

Innovation table: Textile Ecosystem Living Lab (TELL)
At our innovation table, we present the Textile Ecosystem Living Lab (TELL), a proof of concept developed by Francesco Sollitto and Troy Nachtigall, in collaboration with Lennart Bastiaans(Hogeschool van Amsterdam, Applied Mathematics).
TELL consists of:
1: a dashboard providing insight into textile companies in the Netherlands through generated search terms;
2: input forms for user interaction and data update.

This tool contributes to better understanding of the ecosystem and supports policymakers, entrepreneurs and researchers in decision-making.

Stay tuned: the programme is still under development and will be updated in the coming period!
