Programme Knit Winter School
Day 1: Introduction The first day is all about getting to know each other and will give an introduction to programming with SDS ONE APEX4 and Shima Seiki wholegarment knitting machines.
Day 2: Knitting it Local- Co-Creation: On the second day, we will dive into local knitting and textile traditions. In co-creation, we design, programme and knit samples for a fisherman’s sweater.
Day 3: Experimentation: This day is all about experimenting. We encourage you to try out new knitting techniques and concepts. This creative freedom provides space to think outside your usual knitting lines and develop unique designs.
Day 4: Knitting it Local-Co-Creation (continued): We continue exploring local textile traditions and co-creation. We merge the results of the previous days. And with all the knowledge so far, we design, programme and knit the sweater.
Day 5: Finalising and Presenting: In the morning, we finish our projects. In the afternoon, everyone gets the chance to present their work and reflect on the knowledge and experience gained, while enjoying a drink.

Registration: send your cover letter to l.a.eisinger@hva.nl by 8 January 2025.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Knit Winter School!

Kind regards,
The team of the Knit Winter School
