Lecture speech Jens Oelerich



On Thursday 28 May, Jens Oelerich will deliver his rectoral address at Saxion University of Applied Sciences and be officially installed as a lecturer.

In his speech, Jens will discuss the role of universities of applied sciences within the transition of the textile industry and explain how his research group contributes to this here, now and in the future.

His speech is part of a symposium, the programme of which is organised in cooperation with the European Technology Platform for Textiles (Textile ETP) and consists of presentations and lectures by researchers from the Sustainable & Functional Textiles (S&FT) lectureship and the ETP.

Jens Oelerich

Jens Oelerich has been a lecturer in Sustainable & Functional Textiles at Saxion since 2024. He conducts research on mechanical and chemical recycling of textiles, spinning yarns from recycled materials and analysing recycled textile raw materials. Oelerich is active in national and international networks such as Texplus, Dutch Circular Textile Valley and the European Technology Platform for Textiles. He is co-founder of recycling companies SaXcell B.V. and Textile Fiber Boost B.V. and teaches textile chemistry and sustainable textiles in Saxion’s Innovative Textile Technology master’s programme.

Jens is also part of the core team of NewTexEco, which contributes to cooperation between colleges, companies and research institutions in the circular textile transition.
