Dutch Design Week: NewTexEco at CLICKNL
On Tuesday 20 and Friday 23 October , NewTexEco will be taking part in various events during Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven. Through two projects, we are contributing to two CLICKNL programmes: Design Innovation Sessions – Thriving Planet in the morning and Design Power & Transitions in the afternoon.

Morning: Design Innovation Sessions – Thriving Planet
11:15 – 13:30 | Natlab | language of instruction: English
The Design Innovation Sessions 2026: Thriving Planet will focus on the question of how design, digitalisation and innovation can contribute to social change.
As part of the DPP4Circular Denim project, Jirka Rajme-Mendez, from our research group, and Borre Akkersdijk, founder and partner at BYBORRE, will contribute to the session ‘The smart weaving mill’. They will share their perspectives on the development of a more circular textile supply chain.
The DPP4Circular Denim project is investigating how digital product information and Digital Product Passports can contribute to greater transparency and circular value chains.
Afternoon: Design Power & Transitions
13:00 – 17:15 | Natlab | language of the event: Dutch
This afternoon, CareCare & Repair & Repair will be part of the first public event organised by Ontwerpkracht & Transities, a CLICKNL programme in which five research projects are investigating how design can contribute to societal transitions.
The workshop ‘Orchestrating Transitions as a Designer’ focuses on the changing role of the designer. Various ‘orchestrators’ will share their perspectives and engage in discussion with participants about the role, tensions and value of orchestration as a design competence.
This theme ties in with ‘Care & Repair’, which investigates how design can help extend the lifespan of clothing. This requires not only solutions for maintenance and repair, but also collaboration between various parties in the textile supply chain.
In addition to the workshop sessions, there will be a keynote speech by David Abbink and a project fair showcasing the research projects within ‘Design Power & Transitions’.
There is space for up to 120 participants. Registration is recommended.
The Klerenpartij: fashion on the political agenda
Friday 23 October |2.30 pm – 4.00 pm | Eindhoven Town Hall, Stadhuisplein 1
De KlerenpDe Klerenpartijartij, our brand-new partner, will also be active during Dutch Design Week. On Friday 23 October, De Klerenpartij will take over the council chamber at Eindhoven Town Hall for a special council meeting on the future of the fashion system. Designers, students, entrepreneurs, residents and policymakers will come together to debate how the fashion and textile sector can become fairer and more sustainable. Through motions, public speakers, debate and a real vote, the issue will not only be discussed but also placed on the political agenda.
Networking drinks
After the council meeting, NewTexEco is co-sponsoring a drinks reception – a great opportunity to continue the discussion and get to know one another.
