Profile: Behavioural researcher Sophie Postma

With her background in neuroscience, Sophie specialises in addressing social issues by applying knowledge from the fields of neuroscience and cognitive science. As a behavioural researcher at Milieu Centraal, she investigates what prevents people from behaving more sustainably, what needs to be done to change this behaviour, and how sustainable behaviour can be encouraged in the long term. In 2023, in collaboration with colleagues and Psychologie Magazine, she developed the proven-effective training programme ‘Mijn Stijl iD’. The online training helps women to consciously buy fewer clothes.
