Sarah Pichon

Sarah Pichon is a researcher in Smart & Functional Textiles at Saxion University of Applied Sciences in Enschede, with a background in textile engineering. As part of the Sustainable & Functional Textiles research group, her work focuses on the development of smart textiles and wearable technologies, combining innovative textile manufacturing techniques with a strong user-centered approach.

Sarah develops flexible textile sensors and actuators for applications in healthcare, sports, and defense. She has contributed to projects on respiratory training for children with dysfunctional breathing using textile-based breathing sensors and haptic feedback, a glove with electrodes for electrotactile feedback in human–computer interaction, and 3D seamless knitted pneumatic actuators for a total artificial soft robotic heart. By integrating textile technology with user needs, she contributes to the development of innovative, practical smart textile solutions.
