Karen Bosch

Karen Bosch is education coordinator at NewTexEco and lecturer-researcher on the Fashion & Textile Technologies programme at Saxion University of Applied Sciences. Karen studied Commercial Economics at Saxion and Communication Science at the University of Twente and, after graduating, worked as a market research project manager and marketeer. Since 2011, she has been active in the hbo, in positions as lecturer, researcher and communication advisor at HU, Inholland and Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, including AMFI, among others.

While working at AMFI, it became clear to Karen how great the challenges in the fashion and textile industry are. This experience became an important motivation to continue this work at Saxion and to educate students to become critical professionals who contribute to a more sustainable sector.

Currently, Karen is project leader for the Netherlands within TEACH4SD, an international project in which ten educational institutions from five countries work together to professionalise teachers in the field of sustainability. As work package leader, Karen plays a central and connecting role in this.

Within NewTexEco, Karen works as education coordinator, with a focus on strengthening and connecting sustainability-oriented education among the participating colleges.
