Christiaan Bolck
Ir. C.H. (Christiaan) Bolck supports the transition to a more sustainable economy through the regional development agency Oost NL. He is currently focusing on designing the circular textiles programme at Oost NL and contributing to closing the plastics and other chains in the regional manufacturing industry. He is also a member of the core team of the KIA-CE and the Circular Textiles Action Plan, the advisory board of the Nova Renewable Materials Conference, a jury member for the Dutch Packaging Awards (NLPA) and an evaluator of applications for scientific and applied research at NWO, RVO, Horizon (EU), EPA (Ireland) and VLAIO (Flanders).
He has more than 25 years of experience in the development of materials and products. He spent many years at Wageningen Food and Biobased Research, where he was responsible for research and development activities in the field of renewable materials, such as recycled plastics, but also (natural) fibre-based materials such as paper & pulp and biobased and biodegradable plastics. He was also director of the public-private Circular and Biobased Performance Materials (CBPM) research programme and coordinated the Biobased Materials R&D activities within the Dutch top sectors. In addition, he advised the government and individual companies in the field of renewable materials. He was also co-author of the national science agenda (NWA) and knowledge and innovation agenda (KIA) for the circular economy and the national growth fund project applications for Circular Plastics NL (CPNL) and BioBased Circular (BBC). He was also a member of the advisory board of the polymer technology research group at Windesheim University of Applied Sciences, involved in the review of the Tactical Design research group at ArtEZ, and a member of the review committee for the Sustainable & Functional Textiles research group at Saxion.
