Circular Textile Days
The Circular Textile Days is a business event that provides an excellent opportunity to meet new partners within the sustainable textile sector and to discover and discuss innovative circular textile solutions. NewTexEco will also be present, with network manager Floor van der Holst as point of contact.
These two days are the perfect time to explore current (research) questions from the sector. Visit our stand and engage with us on seven central themes within our research programme; from digitalisation and circular design to collaboration in the chain.
Are you working on practical solutions or strategic innovation in textiles? We would love to explore with you the opportunities for practical research and new collaborations.
Visit our stand: a ‘cabinet of curiosities’ from circular practice
Location: stand 44
At our booth, partners showcase recent developments, ranging from innovative yarns and knitted textiles to wearables, circular clothing concepts, and do-it-yourself kits. You will also find publications on current textile challenges and results from the weaving summer schools organized together with Enschede Textielstad.
Summer School 2025: Prototyping Product-Service Ecosystems
Location: Innovators Gallery
The NewTexEco Summer and Winter Schools serve as experimental spaces to explore innovation in the fashion and textile sector. During our Knit Summer School 2025 (Hogeschool van Amsterdam), professionals and students collaborated across three innovation labs: the 3D Robotic Knit Lab, the Wearable Data Studio, and the Transforming Ownership Lab. Together they developed the capacity to knit entire garments using robotic 3D knitting – without any seams, and ready to wear after just one wash. On display are the resulting prototypes, including contributions using Dutch Merino from Wolboerderij Blij Bezuiden.
These prototypes demonstrate how cross-sector collaboration and technology can shift fashion toward circularity, local production, and regenerative practices.
Round Table: Care & Repair – extending product life as a design challenge
Location: Innovation Square
Time: Wednesday, 16:00
Speaker: Sina Steidinger – MENDED
At the round table, Sina Steidinger (partner MENDED) will introduce the Care & Repair project – part of the ClickNL program Ontwerpkracht en Transitie. This practice-based research project, starting in September 2025, explores how maintenance and repair can extend the lifespan of clothing.
MENDED works closely with fashion brands and designers and knows what is already happening in the field. The central question: what does ‘repair’ mean for retailers, fashion brands, and designers?
Innovation Table: Textile Ecosystem Living Lab (TELL)
Location: Innovation Square
At our innovation table, we present the Textile Ecosystem Living Lab (TELL), a proof of concept developed by Francesco Sollitto and Troy Nachtigall, in collaboration with Lennart Bastiaans (Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, Applied Mathematics).
TELL consists of:
A dashboard that provides insights into textile companies in the Netherlands via generated search terms;
Input forms for user interaction and data updating.
This tool contributes to a better understanding of the ecosystem and supports policymakers, entrepreneurs, and researchers in decision-making. Read more here.
